| 30 minutes south
of Kelowna, BC there is a small town on the west side
of Okanagan Lake. With a population of approx. 4,800
people, Peachland is a wonderful community in which
to live or to visit. With over 2,000 hours of sunshine
each year, your days in Peachland are bound to be wonderful.
Water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing,
sailing, kayaking, swimming or fishing are all activities
that Peachland has to offer on the shores of Okanagan
Lake. Although it can be difficult to pull yourself
away from the beach, you may want to explore the many
orchards that surround the hills of Peachland. Visit
the many wineries and learn how each had their unique
way of making their award wining wines.
Peachland is also connected to
the Kettle Valley Railway and this provides a great
trail for hiking and cycling. Hike up to Pincushion
Mountain, take in the therapeutic views from Hardy Falls.
Venture out to Rattlesnake Island for a picnic and keep
a look-out for the legendary Ogopogo.
Summerland is a wonderful community
just minutes south of Peachland. They have created an
old English theme with a Town Crier that makes them
a very unique town.
With fantastic beaches and parks, shopping, vineyards,
orchards, hiking and biking trails there is always something
to do in Summerland. With all the natural and local
fruit and produce you can only imagine how wonderful
the food can be at the local restaurants.
Home to a variety of festivals
and events each year, you can come and visit for the
Good Will Shakespeare Festival in May, the Action Festival
in June or the Summerland Folk Festival in August. Thousands
of people love to visit Summerland because of the warmth
of their residents and weather. Summerland is a magical
place to visit or make your home.
